PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • Photography for international magazines and newspapers, including New York Times Magazine, Granta, Geo, Time, Newsweek, US News, Stern, The Independent, Index on Censorship, Foto8, and others

1998-2003 completed photography projects for:

  • Soros Foundation (Open Society Institute in Siberia) and Objective Reality Foundation (Moscow), titled “People on the Borders” and "Eight Rivers of Northern Asia," focusing on the life, culture and minority populations along the great Rivers of Siberia. The first project profiled the Yenisey.
  • Alexia Foundation (Syracuse University, Newhouse School of Public Communications, USA), called “Conflict and Coexistance in the Caucasus”
  • Mother Jones International Fund for Documentary Photography (San Francisco), called “Come in Freedom Go in Freedom”, documenting the war in Chechnya

  • Independent photographer based in Prague, covering Eastern Europe
